Kia, Hyundai Hit With Patent Suit Over AI Bot, Backup Cameras

KIA Corp. and Hyundai Motor Co. are facing claims that a 360-degree camera in their vehicles and a Kia AI-powered chat assistant violate patent laws.

DigiMedia Tech LLC filed a complaint Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas alleging Kia and Hyundai are infringing DigiMedia’s patents for view-switching video technology and automated customer support.

The U.S. patents at issue are 6,567,086; 6,741,250; and 6,684,220;
