Hyundai Motor America and Kia America Inc. convinced a district court to permit an immediate appeal of its decision allowing multiple cities to sue the car companies for failing to protect against vehicle thefts.
The ruling could impact the extent of liability for third-party crime in negligence cases in New York, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
