Washington-based Key Tronic Corp. must face a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of thousands of current and former employees that was exposed in a May 2024 data breach.
Lead plaintiff Chase Barnes alleged injury-in-fact sufficient to establish standing to sue in federal court and adequately pleaded a claim of breach of implied contract, Judge Thomas O. Rice of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Washington said Tuesday.
Rice dismissed the plaintiff’s unjust-enrichment and breach-of-implied-contract claims with prejudice and dismissed his negligence claim with leave to amend.
