Kentucky Supreme Court Upholds Order Limiting Abortion Access

Most abortions in Kentucky will remain illegal after the state’s top court Thursday refused to reinstate a trial court order that had blocked enforcement of two near-total bans.

The Kentucky litigation is just one of myriad battles being fought in state courts throughout the country, where abortion rights advocates have turned to state laws and constitutions to restore access to the procedure in the wake of the US Supreme Court’s June 24 ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
