Kentucky Riverport Authority Chief Deemed Immune from Lawsuit

The executive director of a Kentucky riverport authority has governmental immunity from a tortious interference suit filed against her in her official capacity by the managers of Louisville’s port.

The Louisville and Jefferson County Riverport Authority is analogous to another transportation board that the Kentucky Supreme Court granted immunity to in 2009, Judge Eric E. Murphy wrote for the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Thursday as it, overruled a lower court.
