Kentucky Non-Violent Felon Sues Bondi, State AG Over Gun Law (1)

A Kentucky resident and convicted felon is suing US Attorney General Pam Bondi and state Attorney General Russell Coleman, claiming that his conviction shouldn’t prevent him from possessing a firearm.

Hubert Frank Ford alleges that the federal and state felon-in-possession of a firearm statutes, which prohibit convicted felons from possessing firearms, violate his Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, according to his complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

A Justice Department spokesperson declined comment. Spokespeople with Coleman’s office didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
