A transgender professor at Kent State University couldn’t convince a federal appeals court to give their dismissed sex discrimination and retaliation suit a second chance.
GPat Patterson failed to show either direct or circumstantial evidence Kent State discriminated against them when the school denied their tenure transfer and revoked their leadership role at the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality, Judge John B. Nalbandian said Friday. They similarly failed to establish prima facie cases for retaliation under Title VII, First Amendment retaliation, and perceived-disability discrimination under the Rehabilitation Act.
