Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) will pay $271,000 in restitution and complete 100 hours of community service to resolve nine-year-old felony state charges alleging he solicited investors for a technology company without disclosing he was getting paid to do so.
The deal announced Tuesday at a Houston courthouse wipes out the potential prison sentence Paxton would’ve faced had he gone to trial next month, as scheduled, and been found guilty.
