Keebler Fudge Stripe Cookies Not Real Fudge, Consumer Says (1)

Ferrara Candy Co.'s Keebler Fudge Stripes-Fudge Mint cookies lack essential ingredients of real fudge, making its fudge-centric packaging deceptive, according to a proposed class action filed Thursday in an Illinois federal court.

The front label includes images of fudge being dripped on a cookie, and the phrases “Fully Fudged–Fudge Mint,” “Naturally and Artificially Flavored,” and “Made With Real Keebler Fudge,” the complaint says.

Also featured is the “iconic, trusted brand ambassador for over half a century, Ernie the Elf,” the complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois says.
