Kaye-Smith Enterprises Inc. will pay $2 million to settle allegations the financial-services industry support provider negligently failed to protect the personal information of nearly 900,000 consumers and 48 businesses that was exposed in a June 2022 data breach, under a deal granted final approval by a federal court.
Consumers will be eligible for one year of credit-monitoring services, payment for documented losses of up to $2,500, or a pro-rata cash payment from the consumer portion of the fund after payment of documented losses, according to the plaintiffs’ motion for final approval of the settlement.
