Kansas Retirement Center Faces Bedbug Infestation Class Action

A retirement center must face a class action over its alleged refusal to deal with a rampant bedbug infestation.

The elderly residents of Cross-Lines Retirement Center in Kansas City, Kan. can move forward on five issues alleging breach of standard of care for failing to maintain their properties and selling them above fair market value, US District Court for the District of Kansas Judge Eric F. Melgren said in an order on Wednesday.

The plaintiffs cannot use the action to learn whether every tenant was affected by the infestation, the judge said.
