Kalshi Warns $650 Million at Risk if Court Halts Trading (1)

Kalshi Inc. fears it may have to liquidate $650 million in open derivative contracts if a Massachusetts court grants the state’s attorney general’s request to halt its sports prediction market operations there, according to a filing.

The requested shutdown of Kalshi’s operations in Massachusetts by its Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell could, if granted, “wreak havoc on the entire Kalshi exchange ecosystem,” the company said in a filing docketed Wednesday opposing the injunction and asking the court to dismiss the case.
