Kaiser Member Advances Health-Info Suit Against Microsoft

Microsoft Corp. and Qualtrics International Inc. must face a proposed class action alleging they collected the personal health information of Kaiser Permanente members in violation of federal and state law.

Plaintiff Jane Doe alleged a concrete injury sufficient for the purposes of standing, and successfully stated claims for invasion of privacy, unjust enrichment, violations of the California Unfair Competition Law, and some violations of Section 631(a) of the California Invasion of Privacy Act, Judge John C. Coughenour of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said Tuesday.
