A Kaiser Permanente affiliate asked a California federal court to find that a $556 million False Claims Act settlement constitutes a loss under its directors and officers insurance policy with an American International Group Inc. subsidiary.
At this stage, Kaiser isn’t asking the court to determine the amount of the FCA deal that National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh should have to pay, according to the Thursday motion for partial summary judgment by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc. in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
