JUUL Awarded $2M After Counterfeit Products Infringed Trademarks

JUUL Labs Inc.won a trademark infringement lawsuit over six counterfeit products that were falsely advertised and sold by China-based companies operating in California.

The US District Court for the Central District of California Thursday awarded JUUL $2 million when it found defendant Andy Chou and his companies liable of willfully infringing on the e-cigarette manufacturer’s marks. Chou is the founder and CEO of CJ Fulfillment Corp,; CJ Trade Corp.; Yiwu Cute Jewelry Co.; Yiwu Promotional Trade Co. Ltd.; and Yiwu Xite Jewelry Co.
