The U.S. Supreme Court Tuesday denied a request by a group of Maine health-care workers to review their bid to block enforcement of the state’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate, which doesn’t allow for their faith-based objections.
The unnamed workers said Gov. Janet T. Mills (D)’s Aug. 12 mandate and rules implementing it don’t require Maine to address the sincerely held religious beliefs of nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals.
By not providing for possible religious accommodations from the Covid-19 vaccines, Maine’s mandate violates their rights under federal job discrimination law and the U.S. Constitution, the workers said in their petition seeking ...
