Judges Doubt Claims Photographers’ Injuries Caused by Police

Photojournalists hoping to revive their constitutional claims over injuries sustained while covering protests were met Thursday with Seventh Circuit judges who seemed doubtful they could sufficiently show that police caused their injuries in the first place.

Alyssa Schukar and Scott Olson say they were hurt by law enforcement officers’ less-lethal munitions as they photographed the unrest in Kenosha, Wis., after the 2020 shooting of Jacob Blake by police.
