Judge Urges Trimming Truist Bank Worker’s Discrimination Claims

A former employee of Truist Bank Inc. should be allowed to proceed with claims that she was terminated because of her gender, a US magistrate judge recommended.

Plaintiff Sherri Foster’s allegations that her supervisor made derogatory comments showing gender bias and stereotypes are sufficient for a fact finder to conclude that he was motivated by “discriminatory animus based on gender,” US Magistrate Judge Linda T. Walker of the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia said in a report and recommendation issued Monday.
