Claudia Carolina Pereira Guevara woke up on a dirty floor last month sick to her stomach, her body aching, and her feet numb, she told a judge in Chicago federal court Tuesday.
She was vomiting, she said, after trying to sleep in filthy and freezing conditions at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in suburban Broadview. She asked to see a doctor, but the federal officers said no. They gave her medicine for the vomiting and told her to stretch out her feet, she said.
