A federal judge hearing a challenge to the Trump administration’s Medicaid lockout for Planned Parenthood repeatedly pushed a Department of Justice attorney to explain the law’s allegedly vague terms, which states say doom the measure.
At a hearing, Judge Indira Talwani asked repeatedly whether states can reimburse claims from Planned Parenthood and other women’s health clinics under the new restrictions, especially those that don’t provide abortions themselves but are affiliated others that do provide the services.
