Judge Floats Student Visa ‘Solution’ for Deported Freshman

A Massachusetts federal judge is recommending the Trump administration grant a student visa to a Boston-area college freshman it deported to Honduras in apparent violation of a court order for her to stay in the country.

Judge Richard G. Stearns, of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts, floated the “practical solution to the real-life problem” of 19-year-old Any Lucia Lopez Belloza’s arrest and later deportation in November as she was boarding a flight in Boston to surprise her family in Texas during for the Thanksgiving holiday.
