Judge Approves $3.45 Million Deal in Worker Suit Against VSP

A federal judge tentatively approved a multi-million dollar agreement to settle a lawsuit brought by customer service representatives alleging their employers, insurer Vision Service Plan and its subsidiaries, engaged in unlawful labor practices.

The US District Court for the Eastern District of California granted the plaintiffs’ unopposed motion for conditional class certification, preliminary approval of the settlement, appointment of a settlement administrator, and scheduling of final approval of the settlement, after previously barring a prior version of the class certification and settlement terms.
