JPMorgan Leaders Fend Off Suit Over Epstein Ties’ Costs to Bank

JPMorgan Chase & Co. investors can’t proceed with a suit against the company’s directors and officers for retaining Jeffrey Epstein as a client, a federal judge said Friday.

The suit alleging the leaders knew or should have known “that Epstein was using the bank’s financial services to facilitate Epstein’s criminal sex trafficking and exploitation of women and underaged girls” was filed without a demand that the firm’s board of directors approve the litigation, Judge Jed Rakoff said.
