Johnson Controls Sued by Steamfitters Over Public Job Site Wages

Johnson Controls Inc. is facing a proposed class action alleging it failed to pay steamfitters and plumbers prevailing wages for their work at public job sites.

The six named plaintiffs allege the company, until at least mid-2021, paid them the same hourly rates whether they worked on private or public job sites, depriving them of “all the prevailing wages and supplemental benefits that they were entitled to” on public job sites, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
