John Deere Must Face Lawsuit Over Tractor Death in Texas Court

The family of a man killed by a tractor with a large rotary cutter in a workplace injury will be able to face Deere & Co. in a Texas court, a state appeals court ruled.

Gilbert Bernal’s family provided enough evidence that Dallas County is the proper venue because the regional distribution center has a decision-maker who conducts the daily affairs of the company, the Texas Court of Appeals, Fifth District said Tuesday. The company does business as John Deere.
