JCPenney Sued Over Cancer Survivor’s Disability Bias Claims

JCPenney violated federal employment law when it discharged a former warehouse worker because she had breast cancer, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleges in a new lawsuit.

The EEOC is suing Penney OpCo LLC—the company that operates the department store chain JCPenney—for discrimination and failure to accommodate under the American with Disabilities Act on behalf of Angela Grier in a complaint filed Tuesday with the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
