Jan-Pro Must Reimburse Workers After California Court Fight (1)

A federal judge agreed Tuesday with some of Jan-Pro Franchising International Inc. janitors’ arguments that they’re a recognizable class and due expense reimbursements in their lawsuit alleging the company misclassified them as independent contractors.

Judge William Alsup, of US District Court for the Northern District of California granted the janitors’ request to certify classes on claims that they were misclassified, that they didn’t receive minimum wage for training, and that they didn’t receive expense reimbursement for uniforms and cleaning supplies.
