Jan-Pro, Janitors Reach $30 Million Classification Settlement

Jan-Pro Franchising International Inc. and thousands of janitors who allege they were misclassified as independent contractors settled long-running litigation and averted a scheduled October federal trial.

The $30 million proposed settlement filed Sept. 22 follows a Judge William Alsup of the US District Court for the Northern of California ruling Aug. 25 staying the case for 125 franchisees and maintaining the Oct. 16 trial over the remaining 2,100 class members.
