Jan-Pro $30 Million Settlement With Janitors Preliminarily OK’d

Jan-Pro Franchising International Inc. will pay $30 million to thousands of janitors who alleged they were misclassified as independent contractors under a mediated agreement a federal judge approved Thursday.

Judge William Alsup of the US District Court for the Northern of California preliminarily approved the proposal that covers claims of some 2,650 franchisees who signed an agreement with a master franchisee in California from Dec. 12, 2004, until Nov. 30, 2023.
