Jackson Hewitt Inc. and a group of tax preparers who alleged the company and some of its franchisees unlawfully deducted the value of promotional customer gift cards from their earned commissions agreed to settle the preparers’ wage and other claims, New Jersey federal court records show.
The US District Court for the District of New Jersey on Wednesday gave the parties until July 5 to file a motion for preliminary settlement approval in the proposed nationwide class lawsuit. The court did so at the parties’ request, it said.
