Differences between the legal systems of the US and the Kingdom of Spain should halt an IRS investigation of a couple for their alleged tax liabilities abroad, they told a federal court.
Mauricio Alvarez and Matia Diaz of California are attempting to quash three summons that the IRS filed with three financial institutions—JPMorgan Chase, Fidelity Investments and Lincoln Financial Advisers—to obtain information financial information on them from 2018 to 2021.
