IonQ, Executives Won’t Face Fraud Claims Around SPAC Merger

IonQ Inc., dMY Technology Group Inc. III, and their officers had their bids to dismiss securities fraud claims granted by a judge in US District Court for the District of Maryland, who ruled that the plaintiff failed to state a claim.

The quantum computing company and the special purpose acquisition company it merged into in September 2021 had allegedly misled investors about the existence and attributes of IonQ’s technology, artificially inflating the company’s share price until May 2022, investors said in the lawsuit that the judge tossed on Thursday.
