Intelligent Business Solutions Beats Suit Over 2023 Data Breach

North Carolina-based Intelligent Business Solutions Inc. defeated a proposed class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of neary 12,000 people that was exposed in a 2023 data breach.

Lead plaintiff Daniel Panighetti failed to allege an injury-in-fact sufficient to establish he had standing to sue in federal court, Judge Loretta C. Biggs of the US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina said Monday.

Biggs granted IBS’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit.
