Intel Defeats Former Employee’s Age Discrimination Lawsuit

Intel Corp. shook off claims that it wrongfully discharged a technical writer because of his age and retaliated against him for reporting the discrimination and alleged nepotism.

Intel provided non-discriminatory reasons for terminating Daniel Cobb, and he failed to show that the company’s reasons were a pretext for age discrimination, Magistrate Judge Jeff Armistead of the US District Court for the District of Oregon said.

Cobb was warned that he needed to improve his performance after he missed two meetings, Armistead said. The company also asserts that Cobb created a user guide containing errors, typos, and missing information, requiring re-reviews ...
