Former leaders of the US Institute of Peace were denied a temporary restraining order Wednesday, in their suit against President Donald Trump‘s new Department of Government Efficiency, alleging “literal trespass and takeover by force” of its headquarters in Washington.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, was submitted by five prominent institute board members fired by Trump on March 14—including board chair and former US ambassador to Russia John J. Sullivan, and Kerry Kennedy, the human rights activist and daughter of Robert F. Kennedy.
