Instacart parent Maplebear Inc. and the San Diego City Attorney’s office, fighting over whether the gig employer misclassified workers, told the California Supreme Court Friday to forget about their argument.
Attorneys with Keker Van Nest & Peters representing Instacart and the city filed a joint request to withdraw the petition for review the employer filed after it lost in the appeals court. The filing, which seeks a court order ending the appeal, didn’t state why the petition was withdrawn. Lawyers for the company and city didn’t immediately respond to emails seeking comment.
