An 84-year-old woman injured on a Holland America cruise ship when she was hit with a suddenly opened door was awarded $1.35 million by a federal court jury in Washington following a virtual trial.

Margaret Dallo was nearing the end of her 17-day round-trip cruise to Hawaii from San Diego in November 2018. As she was walking down a hallway, a crew member suddenly opened a door, knocking her down and causing her head to strike a wall, she said.
