Infowars Host Shroyer Loses Libel Case Over January 6 Framing

Infowars host Owen Shroyer lacks a foundation in Texas to sue news outlets Salon.com and Media Matters for America for misrepresenting his actions in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the US Capitol, a federal judge ruled.

Texas, where Shroyer brought the claims, holds no jurisdiction over the media companies because the alleged defamatory statements have only a scant connection to the state, Senior US District Judge David Ezra said in an orderin the Western District of Texas.
