The Consumer Product Safety Commission allowed one of its commissioners to make unfounded safety statements that cratered Nested Bean Inc.'s business, the company said in complaint.
Weighted infant sleep product maker Nested Bean said statements and letters from Commissioner Richard L. Trumka Jr. caused an 80% reduction in sales, according to the company’s complaint filed March 28 in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
