Infant Car Seat Maker Defeats Proposed Safety Defect Class Suit

Columbus Trading Partners USA Inc. convinced a federal judge in New York to toss a proposed class action alleging the company deceptively marketed faulty infant car seats as conforming to a “higher standard of safety.”

“This single superlative safety claim” wasn’t sufficient to maintain deception allegations, Judge Frederic Block of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York said in an April 17 decision.
