Indian Government Sued for Assassination Attempt on US Citizen

The Indian government is being sued in federal court for its alleged “unprecedented attempt” to assassinate a Sikh separatist and attorney with US citizenship on US soil.

The assassination attempt—for which the government of India denies responsibility—has complicated relations between the US and India as the Biden administration seeks to deepen ties with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
