Illinois Speaker’s Bribery Trial Awaits Supreme Court Ruling (1)

The public corruption trial of Illinois’ longest-serving speaker of the House was postponed six months while a federal judge waits for a US Supreme Court ruling that could alter the case.

“I’m not going to stay the case, but I am going to move the trial,” US Judge John Robert Blakey of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois told a crowded Chicago courtroom Wednesday.
