Illinois Animal Clinic Faces ERISA Suit Over Pharma Investments

The Animal Doctor Ltd. is facing a proposed class action lawsuit claiming its pension plan fiduciaries breached their obligations by investing heavily in pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Cathy Paszkiet, who worked at the Illinois veterinary clinic for nearly two decades, filed the complaint in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Friday alleging violations of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

The complaint alleges that The Animal Doctor Ltd. Profit Sharing Plan has since 2021 had nearly 98% of its assets invested in Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc., Moderna Inc. and Novavax Inc.
