An Idaho LGBTQ+ student rights group failed to convince a federal judge to halt enforcement of a state law requiring public school students to use restrooms that correspond with their biological sex.
Since the law is “substantially related” to Idaho’s interest in privacy, the Sexuality and Gender Alliance at Boise High School is unlikely to succeed on its equal protection claim, Judge David C. Nye of the US District Court for the District of Idaho said in a Thursday opinion.
