Federal immigration officials have failed to comply with a court order requiring improved conditions at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Manhattan, detainees held at the facility alleged in a court filing.
The Department of Homeland Security has “made misleading statements, evaded accountability, and continued the unlawful conditions” in violation of a preliminary injunction that requires various improvements, including access to hygiene products and the ability to call attorneys, according to a motion filed Tuesday.
