Hyundai Defeats Privacy Suit Over Driver Alertness System Data

A Hyundai customer failed to allege that the company collected data from a driver alertness system in violation of Illinois privacy law, a federal judge said.

It was insufficient to allege that camera data about whether a driver is focusing on the road could be collected by Hyundai dealers and law enforcement, and that the company has disclosed data to insurance companies in the past, the judge said Thursday.
