Hotelier Exits Lawsuit Over Franchisee’s Alleged Sex Trafficking

G6 Hospitality LLC was released from a Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act lawsuit against one of its franchisees after a federal judge said the plaintiff failed to allege franchisor liability.

The woman failed to sufficiently allege that G6—which owns the Motel 6 brand—had actual or constructive knowledge of trafficking allegations at Hare Krishna Savannah Hotel—the franchisee—the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia said. Judge Thomas W. Thrash Jr. said that the court already found no agency relationship exists between the Savannah hotel and G6.
