Labette County Medical Center won’t have to face a class action alleging it violated Kansas consumer protection laws in connection with a data breach that exposed the personal information of more than 85,000 patients and employees, a federal court ruled.
One of the named plaintiffs didn’t suffer a concrete injury that was traceable to the breach, and the other two named plaintiffs alleged concrete injury but failed to show that it was traceable to the hospital’s actions, Judge Holly L. Teeter of the US District Court for the District of Kansas said Thursday.
