Horizontal Integration Evades Worker’s Lawsuit Over Data Breach

A former Horizontal Integration worker lacked standing to sue the digital marketing and professional staffing services company over a data breach, a federal court said.

Robert Devine said Horizontal wrote that the Social Security numbers and financial information of some former and current employees may have been compromised in the July 2024 data breach.

Devine failed to allege that his own personal information was leaked, and the harms he did raise were too speculative for monetary relief, Judge Jeffrey M. Bryan of the US District Court for the District of Minnesota ruled Dec. 19.
