Horizon Off the Hook for Greece-to-New York Air Ambulance Flight

A Pfizer Inc. employee who suffered a brain aneurysm while vacationing in Greece can’t force Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey to cover her air ambulance flight to a hospital in New York.

Horizon properly refused to pay for the flight under a health plan term requiring that air ambulance transportation be to the nearest hospital with appropriate facilities in order to be covered, Judge Nelson S.
